Marvel Comics steps into the courtroom once more as Daredevil the man without fear must deliver justice by maintaining the process of the law and the rights of masked vigilantes. The biggest court case of Matthew Murdock’s career continues to haunt him in more ways than one, on the streets, and before the council of judges.
Charles Soule applies suspense as he captures the judicial system well in the circumstances of the story. The Kingpin has initiated plans to destroy the foundation Mr. Murdock wishes to achieve by hiring an elite lawyer known as The Legal, a lawyer known to never lose a case under any circumstance.
The other piece to the puzzle to Kingpin’s game is Lonnie Lincoln known to the criminal underground as Tombstone, a man of stone who uses his fists to get the job done. The mission of Tombstone is to retire Mr. Murdock permanently. If the plan succeeds in this legal battle the case behind Daredevil’s testimony will be dismissed and Simon Slugansky will walk free.
The art Alec Morgan presents holds simplicity, which is effective for the story is were the true focus lies in the comic. The line work is basic and does not have to exaggerate to understand what is being presented within the panels.
The colors give life to the comic to create the essence of a mystery drama. The main colors within the comic are blue, brown, red, and green. The colors blend well into the environment and shades over characters.
The conclusion of the comic is very strong. The issue ends with Matthew Murdock about to present his case to the council of judges. Therefore, the outcome will be revealed within the next issue of the comic and it may serve as the conclusion to the episodic nature of the greatest trial Mr. Murdock and Daredevil has ever seen.
